cleaned the chicken castle...

Since Carl and the girls are spending their days patrolling the grounds now, I was able to remove the bird netting and get in there for a clean sweep.  The new bedding in the coop got christened with its' first egg this afternoon.

Seems I have a new burro buddy.  He must have heard that critters are welcome here.  This one I named Buff after my uncle who passed away a couple of years ago.  He has come in for a snack and some water every day for a week now.  Not able to hand feed him yet - but we are getting closer.  78,84,68,0,B,.16

Buff is handsome, unlike Mr. Floppy whose has been through many seasons on the desert. I'd pick Mr. Floppy any day for the long haul. Glad to see Carl again and the "chickies". I'm quite sure you are happier with them being out and about. This evening with mid-September amongst us, the field of soy beans got harvested, mighty equipment the German Baptist have. I had to explain to the younger neighbor about leasing farm land, equipment used for harvesting, he is 33+ years old with no clue about how farming works. I've taken his and his son's hand into our 9,000s.f. Garden to plant, harvest, but they still don't have a clue. Best I can do is every year take more over to them and teach a little common sence. Been a good day in Hoosierland

Where do you get all the saw dust? Coop looks great! Love your new friend... he needs a friend, he will be a pet soon...

Before I forget, is the .16 the weight of the egg? Or was that other food? Maybe it could be listed daily as "1 egg." Buff is a very handsome donk. It always brings a smile to see these visitors. I bet Carl and the chicks thought they'd been moved into the Hilton Inn when they got home last night.
