You bet the old one looks a little tuckered out!
Tweren't no need for that...being a welder from way back, I would have counted this as an opportunity to use my long 3/8 inch bolt mounted, circular wire brush, in my cordless drill. Of course I would have done it about 3 times in said 6 years. There is a lot of life in that pot. If only you hadn't cleaned the matching coffee cup... :)
Maybe there is sediment inside the old pot too.
High mineral content of the water is the bane of all teapots.
Looks like your esthetic remains intact.
John Baxter...grime wasn't the only problem. Due to high heat over the years the plastic around the whistle had partially melted. The handle had melted too and was held in place with a piece of baling wire - and the bottom has degraded so much it was about to leak. The inside still looked fine and there was no sediment build up. Prices on Amazon ranged from $9 to $120. My replacement was $18. I am being much more diligent about my coffee cup - I now clean it every day! I decided is just isn't right to STAND YOUR GROUND and SEIZE THE DAY with a dirty mug.
Lol. I have a Disney coffee cup of El Dia de los Muertos and it says to seize the moment or day. Those cups sold out in a flash. It's good until one of my dogs breaks it.
Haha! Yepper, with a high caliber side-kick such as Chupa, you can't afford to be messing around.
I have a plastic mug I got on my last Outback Riders Annual Frontier Run/camp out, way back in 1995. I was paralyzed in a wreck a few months after that. I hung on to it all these years. I have been using it as water cup for brushing my teeth since 2003 or so. In the last couple of years, it has developed 2 cracks that cause the top third of water to leak out while I'm brushing. I just got word back from Pam(West Tx realty) thru my sister that the go ahead on the property is happening now. I am so thankful to God for working all of it out. I guess I will have a RETIREMENT ceremony for my much liked cup when I get down there. I think I will buy one of Chupa's mugs to take it's place.
