the super cookie...

Baked a batch of Field Lab Solar Oven Super Cookies for my friend Terry Burger who is in town for a couple of days.  She was the one that sent me butt medicine for Ben's "condition" six months ago (Ben's butt is fine now).  As long as I was at it - I decided to calculate how many calories are in a Super Cookie.  Each one weighs just over 1/3 of a pound and has approximately 700 yummy calories!  80,87,47,0,C

Not bad - a mini meal with some milk, coffee, or hot chocolate. What a kind thing to do for your friend. :-)

DON, SAM, & I visited the Terlingua Ranch last week. But it rained so much we decided not to tear up your road trying to visit you. And Sam's truck was not 4 wheel drive - which further decreased our chances of making it to the Field Lab. -----------------------------The Chihuahuan Desert was beautiful & greener than I had ever seen it in October & November. We shot a few doves - but left early - because there were so few quail seen on our Cedar Springs Hunt Camp. Wanted to save all birds left - to breed some more Quail. Cheers!

Thanks for coming all the way out here to needlessly kill a few doves.

We brought a package of chicken breasts with us - and smoked that over a nice juniper wood fire. Really fine eating - but not as good as the dove breasts. My old hunting dog, Magic, gets the hearts & gizzards & remainder - so nothing goes to waste. Been like that for 48 years at the Mahan Hunt Camp. My wife, Pat, has enjoyed the silver cross you made for her - and she has resumed going to church with me. Things are good here in Alabama! Cheers!
