J...I can't live and let a friend go into eternal damnation due to his own failings.
Prayer
John, you can either comfort him until the end or risk alienating him when he needs you most. Up to you.
Only God can make that call.
You can respect his right to believe or disbelieve what he likes as he respects yours to believe what you believe.
Pray for him and let God handle the rest. Peace be to him... and you.
One of the hardest things for a man to do is not do something. Men built, they fix, they take action. Unfortunately, some problems are just above your pay grade. Faith is hard. Sometimes all you can do is:
1. Continue to support and love your friend
2. Pray
3. Stay busy working on things God has assigned to YOU, and trust that He is working on the rest
Your day to day actions are one of God’s greatest tools. The hand that guides the saw has the plan, the saw only needs to follow. It’s tough, but you have to keep faith above emotions.

Hey, hey, hey. Here I am. (Joking). :-) Bet no ordained person takes advantage of him. Since an ordained person is the authority who everyone believes, he could slander your friend to protect his criminal behavior. Happens. Does your friend know something we do not? No, wait a minute, I must be missing the point. Each to their own.
It disturbed me for years to hear people using god and jesus when they were cursing. I finally found that those are not the names of our creator and savior. Do some research on the true names.
How do you "deal" with them? YOU DON'T !!
