Petrobond isn't quite as fine as delft clay -
but it's a heck of a lot cheaper.
$65.95 only buys 4.4 lbs of delft clay.

How much use do you get out of it?
Can it be reused?
30 pounds will last quite a long time - depending on the sizes of the molds. Only the burned layer right next to the casting gets thrown away. The rest keeps getting used over and over again. Some people keep reusing all their petrobond including the burned parts by refurbishing it with a big mixer and a little motor oil. If I end up doing a lot of casting, I may go that route. For fine detailed work I sift on a thin layer of the more expensive deflt clay and then use the cheaper stuff for the rest of the mold.
