CLOCKOHOLIC

Very nice animated digital clock screensaver available by download for $9.99. This gives me some ideas for another clock build. Thinking about collecting parts for such an elaborate project, I really miss the Canal Street of the 80's in NYC - especially Canal Surplus, Canal Metals, and Canal Plastics. Back then I could source all kinds of obscure sculptural elements from there and I used to venture down to lower Manhattan every Saturday just for inspiration. You can get this screensaver here.

thanks - that's quite a time capsule
was the "Repairman" from a exhibition catalogue
or was it a magazine article? TVs, on a different level.
it almost made sense that the bulk of the video was in Japanese.
that must have been a great time to be in DUMBO… with the cats
and a whirlpool… & you were a cook then…
Robert Rauschenberg & Louise Nevelson roamed the streets too…
Like the show, the host of ''New Yorkers'' straddles more than one culture. Sali Oguri, 28 years old, immigrated to Queens from Nagoya with her family when she was 6. ''I have a very eclectic life, just because I live in New York,'' Ms. Oguri said. Her main love is singing, and she has worked with a Latin combo and a Sicilian wedding band. On Sundays, she sings at a Pentecostal church in the Bronx.

remmij... that was a magazine article. Side note: I picked up one fan in Japan from that show and I am still in touch with her after all these years. We used to correspond by email - but now we use Facebook.
