Indeed, eating and drinking food does not defile a man, and forget the hand washing rituals of the Pharisees!, but we must be careful not to take this verse beyond its original intent. This verse provides no license to eat or drink anything that is not food. For example, drinking blood is an abomination; that practice absolutely will defile a man.
