Long day on the road....Alpine back and forth then Terlingua for some Benita water. Barely had time to start cleaning up the bike'o'worsher for a paint job before I was consumed by impending dread.

Starlight Theatre
Well, folks- I hate to say it but its true. After nearly 20 years serving the best food and throwing the best parties in South West Texas, we are closing our doors. Our last night will be Saturday, September 25th. We want to thank you for all the great memories.3 hours ago 81,92,68,0,B

Say it ain't so! I love the Starlight, and eat there every time I'm in Terlingua. What happened?
Oh crapsticks, I never even got to experience it.
Oh, no! I hate to hear this.
This is awful news. My wife and I love that place.
Please keep us posted if you hear anything about what's going on and if there are any plans to re-open it.
BTW, I've been following your blog for over a year now. I look forward to reading your daily entries every morning.
We met briefly at the motor inn gas station last year. I'm sorry, we didn't get a chance to come by the Field Lab later for a visit.
I'll be out there again for another photo workshop mid-Oct. I'm planning on paying you a visit :-)
We should hope that the vandals don't damage it. Then when the economy turns around, it can be profitable to reopen.
Closing up before the chili cookoff just doesn't make sense unless it is a government issue! Someone has to reopen the place!
Is the place going to be put on the market the sell? What happened?
This news shocked me so much I had to make it the topic of my blog this morning. Another southwestern icon gone!!!
Starlight gone? that really sucks...
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle!
I've had some of the best times of my life at the Starlight.
We will see you at the Starlight Saturday night.
It was on my list for when I come out that way in my bus next spring. Really sorry to hear this...mostly for the folks who have been regulars there for so long.
Damn economy probably, hope it'll get better for them! Lots of fun times there.
No business or other reasons? That the only watering hole there? Hate to see that.
