wash test...

Ran the first load through the worsher this morning.  Real world test had some lingering issues... belt slipping and chain binding.  Worked out the kinks but found that I need to gear the gizmo up at least double speed to get a more efficient worsh - agitation mode is painfully slow pedaling as fast as I can.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7N6LtmdemQ   Benita was absolutely no help today.  78.89,69, .10", B

Is there a reason you set it up in order to pedal backwards?

If you can't tighten the chain by sliding the rear hub backwards a bit more or removing a link (you need to take 2 plate length sections out) there is a little item called a half link that allows you to shorten the chain by only 1 plate length. This one may fit your chain: http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/CH309Z08-Kmc+12+Link+For+332+Chains.aspx

Need to put a derailer on the chain to change gears....

Not bad John, maybe you can incorporate a flywheel into the works, a big heavy one, once you get it going, you don't need to work as hard to keep it going. :)

Your Texas Mom called me in to see you testing it on the live cam. Did look like you had a couple of problems, but know you and Benita will figure it out.

John,

I don't mean to sound like a skeptic, but I'm not convinced this pedal worsher thing is going to be sustainable. You don't have a lot of extra meat on your bones, and with the wash exercise, you will have even less. You may have to start eating meat again. I hope it does work out, we'll know in a year.
