Picked up the washing machine and spent the afternoon stripping it down to the bare essentials. The mechanical features all work perfectly even though the electronic brain has failed. I eliminated all the grid related parts and now I just have to stare at it for a couple of days to figure out the best way to rig it to the bicycle. Also have to decide the best use for the parts I have extracted. This is not a new idea - there are plenty of folks out there that have done the same thing - just do a google search for "bicycle powered washing machine".
Shot some tests with the new camera and I am quite happy with the quality but nothing editorially post-worthy so far. 88,91,61,0,C

Don't know if you were out there for the Digger Charlie days, but I'm glad you weren't inspired by his multi-story designs.
Eagerly awaiting the video (in HD, of course!) of the washing machine in action.
if ingenuity = energy, you don't need a grid
oh... that's the idea,
now I get it

I would think that you could harness some of that West Texas wind to power that washer....
