transplants

Two visitors today...Ashley is already making the move to Marfa from Toronto...CJ is planning his escape to Terlingua from Florida.  Shot their portraits with the dust filled Panasonic.  Shot the finished gate and some sky with the new camera.  (would have been nice it the manual mentioned formatting the SD card before page 45).  Why is it all the high end stuff never has a quick start guide?

Yep, formatting a new card is important. It should be mentioned up front. Great new pictures.

That gate is an "honest" gate. If Ben wants out, that wont stop him, or if another longhorn wants in, ditto. The pins that hold it closed wont work if the 2X4 are broken or just stretched beyond the distance that the end pins need to free themselves from the holders on the gate jamb. That welded field panel will bend under any bovine weight placed against it. I think that eventually you will replace it with a welded steel pipe gate, like when ben gets out or another critter gets in the first time.

Surely (Shirley) you jest? Ben want out? When he gets room service, lots of cuddling and a warm bottle twice a day? There's a waiting list for reservations. Heck, he doesn't even need that gate.

Wow...it's all coming along, John.

Rita - I could see Ben wanting out if he decided he wanted to go in the house and visit with John and Carl. After all, he's been inside before!

Got to agree with LarryLilly about the "honest gate"--Ben or any bovine creature could obviously have their way with it.

But why would Ben want to run far anyway?

New camera is definitely an upgrade. Looking forward to the photos.
