comfort food

Got a nice surprise from my Aunt Mary Lou...comfort food from Figi's.  She sent me one of these last year right after I got out of the hospital and it was the perfect gift then as it is now.  I will always associate this sampler with easy meals when in a tight fix.  56,67,30,0,B

Brings back memories, John. My mom sent me this exact sampler before she died in 2013. I saved all the little jars to use for seeds, and to remember her by.

When I served in The Corps overseas, the Swiss Colony gift packs (very similar) were popular gifts. Supplementing monotonous MREs with added ingredients, a good Summer Sausage or smoked cheese brings the 'A' game!

John, the very best Christmas and New Year to you. Have read your blog from the first few posts and am always pleased to see you adapt and overcome. Blessings in 2016 and maybe the wife and I will get out to you from Fort Worth this year with the gifts of the Three Texas Wisemen; Booze, BBQ and Bullets. Stay safe, brother.
