Monday Meme

Gotta love memes that throw out some miraculous results involving numbers (like how much free college could we provide for the cost of one jet fighter or how much money does each person get if we just divide up what it cost to advertise Obamacare).  Like most memes, they are all simple/brilliant solutions to all our problems till you do the math.  I was "unfriended" for my comment above for being a "buzzkill".  Is it really buzzkill to point out the false perception of something that makes one feel good or appears to be incredibly clever?  Why don't we just leave "false perception" to politicians... 62,72,36,0,B

Well, you stood up for what you think. At least you're not another nasty weathervane blowing in the wind, talking out of both sides of your mouth, hoping to gain favor by agreeing to everyone's wants. It's just so wonderful to be a holy one and certainly not one of those low New York value people---Excuse me---WHATEVEVER THAT MEANS!

The math: it took 4 months for the lottery to grow to 1 billion. To get to one trillion would be 4000 months or 333.33 years. 333.33 times 18.8 = 6266.6 years. FYI...as of 2015 there was approximately $1.39 trillion in circulation in US currency.

Apparently Russell forgot there is a difference between billions and trillions.

I was surprised to hear on t.v. that Trump came from the Norman Vincent Peel school. Then I remembered that I went to Ohio Wesleyan U. with Peel's daughter. She was one year ahead of me. When her father visited (always a big deal), it was like looking at the people in my family. And I have to admit I do miss these good people sometimes.

You say you were "UNFRIENDED"? So what? With friends like that - you do not need enemies! You correctly pointed out the fact our national debt is truly huge - and purchasing lottery tickets will never make it disappear! ------------------------------IMO, it will take all Americans working together to pay this massive debt down - or our children will be impoverished until it is removed from their backs!

People with an agenda to push rarely let facts get in the way of what they are pushing.

What Ronald said. When I'm "unfriended", I recall that I have enough friends already...

Unfriended. :-) Never your friends to begin with. Who cares and what difference does it make. Just so what.
