democide

Noun
(plural democides)
(Mass) murder of people by a government which has power over them.
Origin
Based on Ancient Greek δῆμος (demos, “people”) +‎ -cide.

'Democide' is a term revived and redefined by the political scientist R. J. Rummel (1932–2014) as "the murder of any person or people by their government, including genocide, politicide and mass murder".

An important political consideration - when you vote for our next president. All Republican presidential candidates will support your Second Amendment Gun Rights All the Democratic presidential candidates want to restrict those rights. Vote to keep your Constitutional Rights - to own and use firearms! ----------------------------------------------------------------------Ignore advice of Obama & Bloomberg on this subject! They have lots of armed guards to protect them - and do not understand our need for real protection. Cheers.

Ronald no one wants to take away your guns we just don't have no use for assault weapons.

what's an assault weapon?

Margery Billd said...

An AK-47 might be one. The type terrorists such as ISIS use to mass slaughter people.

Margery Billd said...

High powered, rapid fire weapons. The type you probably would not carry in a purse, glove compartment , or in your nightstand or in a boot or strapped on a leg or in a holster on your body.

Margery Billd said...

I'm sorry, I just never liked guns even though I once bought an automatic 22 rifle for protection.

Margery Billd said...

Some people like glock pistols for protection and if they have concealed carry permits.

Automatic weapons have been banned since 1934. You must have purchased a semi automatic .22.

My rifle never assaulted anyone.

Most modern military assault rifles are capable of fully automatic fire. However, the so called "assault rifles" for sale to the public - are not fully automatic - as James Price's post told everyone. These "assault rifles" are only capable of semi-automatic fire - which means they will fire each time the trigger is pulled and released - until the magazine is empty. These weapons - normally of 223 caliber in the A R versions - and a mild 30 caliber in the A K versions - are actually less powerful than a regular 30:06 semi automatic deer hunting rifle. They have to be - so the real military assault rifle - will not recoil so violently - when fired in the FULL AUTOMATIC MODE. A lot of hype & misinformation is disseminated by the anti gun lobby to scare the general public!

Evidently, James. I sold it after I did not need it.

Full Definition of assault

1
a : a violent physical or verbal attack b : a military attack usually involving direct combat with enemy forces c : a concerted effort (as to reach a goal or defeat an adversary)

2
a : a threat or attempt to inflict offensive physical contact or bodily harm on a person (as by lifting a fist in a threatening manner) that puts the person in immediate danger of or in apprehension of such harm or contact

Maybe we should have anti-car laws, or anti-hammer laws, or anti-tree limb laws, or anti-frying pan laws. Heck, we should ban anything and everything someone could be "assaulted" with.

The term "assault weapon" was deliberately created to apply to ALL firearms.
What gun does not "assault"?

I noticed Mr. Webb didn't answer my question regarding his statement:
"Ronald no one wants to take away your guns we just don't have no use for assault weapons."

What we should have are

- anti-GMO laws
- anti-tainted vaccine laws
- anti-baby killing laws
- anti-geo-engineering laws
- anti-psychotropic pharmaceutical
- anti-private for-profit prisons
- anti-dangerous drinking water

this list can go on and on.

but some choose to go after our Constitutional right to the only real protection we have.

Those who desire to take away our "assault weapons", protect their evil ways with "assault weapons".

Turns out, we are the ones being assaulted.

"Then said He unto them, “But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it and likewise his pack; and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one."
Luke 22:36 KJV

Obama, Mr. Bloomberg, and a great many others would like for the AMERICAN federal government to take away all assault weapons, all semiautomatic hunting weapons, including semiautomatic shotguns, and all handguns. This is exactly what was taken away from the Australian citizens. Therefore the statement - "Ronald no one wants to take away your guns ---" - is clearly false! I agree you may have no need for the semi-automatic assault weapons - but because you have no need for such a weapon - does not cancel our Second Amendment gun rights. If law abiding Americans turned over their weapons to the Feds - then only the criminal element would have weapons. Like I said, Obama And Bloomberg don't own guns - because they are protected 24/7 by armed guards.

Ronald I have God on my side and my cell phone and the law just a call away. On top of that I'm no coward and God has served me well these past 82 years. I suggest putting a little trust in God and the people we pay to protect use. Both have served me well!

I don't care how many guns you have. If they give you the illusion that you are safer, despite data to the contrary, then buy as many as you can afford. If the feds really wanted to put an end to this silly argument about the second amendment, but wanted to make a real impact on the murder rate, regulate the purchase of ammunition like Switzerland does. And follow their weapons licensing policies. They probably own more guns per capita than we do, but have a far lower homicide rate.

That way, you can have all the guns you want.

Funny story. A few years ago my family all went to Tombstone, AZ and saw the OK Corral reenactment. It was around the time the whole gun issue was really heating up. Before the performance, one of the lead characters in the reenactment laid his 6-shooter on the ground in front of the crowd and made a big fuss about how "that gun can't kill nobody. It's just layin' there, for God' sake!"

I saw in the news last year that one of the actors was running late and didn't have his weapon properly inspected before the show. But you know, the show must go on. Anyway, during the course of the show when they start shooting, apparently he had live rounds in the weapon, not blanks. He ended up shooting one of the guys and wounding another woman. The one who was most seriously wounded was airlifted to hospital. Don't know if he lived or died.

So all you 2nd amendment vigilantes who claim to be such responsible firearms owners, there's a lesson to you. The shooter in this case was a firearms expert who handled and discharged firearms every day. I know a lot of you CC folks probably only get to the range maybe a few times per year at best. And you think you're all kinda Doc Holliday when it comes to the weapons, right? Well, there ya go.

Don't get me wrong. I've got no beef with the 2nd amendment. I own weapons and shoot them regularly for fun and proficiency. I taught both my daughters how to handle a .357 mag. They know what they're doing, and they go to the range a lot. Problem is we have a lot of stupid gun owners out there. And unfortunately many of them are very vocal when it comes to the guns. Hence, the illogical fear that "The Man is gonna come take my guns!"

TED --- I am about your age - 80 - and also a Christian - and certainly not a coward - so we have some things in common. However, because the BCSO has done such a poor job of protecting our political signs - I have reasonable doubts about their ability to protect me in Brewster County. I.E. we have had our NO SAY - NO PAY sign destroyed numerous times by criminals. I have also had death threats made on my life - because of that sign. Sure, I carry a concealed weapon at the ranch - but I am thankful, I have never had to use that weapon - for my defense. And due to good genes, I outlived the slime ball that threatened to assassinate me on the lonely roads of Terlingua Ranch! We have to play the cards we re dealt. Cheers!

The problem with John's quibble about Obama's statement is that
a. he is clearly invoking the specter people just clicking on a shopping cart and having a gun FexExed to them "no questions asked". That does not happen.
b. the quibble of a-person meeting b-person and selling to making a private sale is not what Obama is referencing. Its clear that it isnt because he has proposed nothing to prevent that type of private sale.

Its pretty safe to call this a LIE because there was a intention to deceive.
