springy

Flipped my mattress today and found a years worth of energy bar wrappers that had tucked themselves around it.  It's a little early but I fired up Pepino today...still works like a charm chilling down the hut from 84° to 77°.  If my heat tolerance is still low, I may eventually fire up the AC unit I bought last year.  78,87,53,0,B

Parts is parts,my ou have become so acclimated to the temperatures over your years there, if you need cooling airs, then go for this! I sent tres Amigos out into my world of friends, family and chicken egg growers. Fun to hear their responses today. None would consider your accomplishments of those roosters

Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for the youtube videos and the blogging you've done! My wife and I spent a lot of time looking for land with one let down after another and we finally found some in Terlingua Ranch thanks to your videos! We plan on getting moved out there and doing things the hard way very soon. ;) Terlingua is one of the very last areas in the us where you can find a place without building codes and hoas and piles of bulls%^ and fees that can easily suck the life out you. Looking forward to the traffic out there.
ps from now on tell everyone that its hell out there so no one else shows up. lol

sincerely Dustin

When a person ages, heat and cold bother them more. When I was 19 in West Texas during the record breaking heat wave of 107 degrees every day, I had the windows closed and ironed dampend clothes (steam) and did not even perspire. Today, the air goes on at 70 degrees when the sun is out. Older people are found dead in their homes with no air conditioning. Use all the air you need to. No need to suffer. I keep the temperature at 76 degrees winter and summer. (But I am able to do away with the heavy clothing and I am comfortable).

I suppose extra weight might have something to do with it. I used to be very thin and fit. Twenty years ago in my San Antonio apartment, I did not use air conditioning, but I did use fans. My neighbors there had utility bills of $130.00 a month and mine was $20.00 a month.

Dustin....1. Terlingua Ranch has a "pile of bulls%^ HOA" that has extorted illegal fees from the landowners for many years. 2. Lots of people try to move out here every year - very few succeed because it IS HELL in summertime. Good luck!

Margery...I put on 25 pounds during my recovery and have lost 10 of it - with 15 to go to get back to flying weight.

San Antonio humidity makes all the difference compared to West Texas dry air. For an amplified understanding of humidity and temp go to Houston on a windless 85F day. It feels like 100F in dryer climates.

John Wells is not kidding about "illegal fees"! In 2005, only 26.4% of all Members In Good Standing approved a measure to implement the FLAT FEE! And POATRI called the measure approved - despite the fact our Terlingua Maintenance Agreement stated that 50% of all MIGS were required to change the agreement. This FLAT FEE measure increased the fees of all small landowners, and reduced the fees of all large landowners. Now why in the world - would the small landowners (who greatly outnumber the large landowners) want that kind of a fee system? They didn't and voted it down - but the corrupt POATRI board wanted it for their friends with lots of property! And that is exactly why we have a sign on the paved road to their headquarters saying ------------- NO SAY - NO PAY! ------ And it will stay there (on our private property) until we again have legal fees or HELL FREZES OVER!

P.S. A group of property owners called the Terlingua Ranch Reform Party tried to sue POATRI to get the FLAT FEE Scam cancelled by a court (and redress of other grievances)! But POATRI delayed the trial - until we ran out of funds to continue our lawsuit, and had to drop our lawsuit. Another lawsuit was initiated by Ms. Julie Braun, but the court threw out her case - when the judge ruled she did not have standing to file her lawsuit. And the Brewster County Law Enforcement - has never shown any interest in correcting this corrupt action by POATRI. Some say - "There is no law west of the Pecos River". But we have never believed that - and look for the day we will again have property owner APPROVED FEES.
