dry spell?

Got one last round of rain before an upcoming dry spell.  My new "quick read" rain gauge is the tank off the west side greenhouse roof.  This was from the storm that dropped 1"...250 gallons.  73,76,62, .25",B

The place looks good. Cool rain gauge.

Quite a compound.

I just thought of something ... you don't have to shovel snow, rake leaves or mow the grass. Doesn't seem fair. :)

John has lots of grass eating animals living at the Field Lab - which keeps his grass nicely clipped. Earlier this year, Don & I made a special trip to one of our Terlingua cabins - just to mow the grass. This was necessary - to minimize the risk of grass fires burning down our cabin. The great thing about Terlingua Ranch grass mowing - is you seldom have to mow - because of the normal low rainfall.

With all your storage, do you ever run out of water? Also, what sort of filtration do you use for drinking water?
