third fence run

Stretched the last run of fencing today.  Got some girts up on the pole barn too.  Took a break and had an ice cold Mexican Coke.  For those of you who don't know about these...they are made with real sugar - not HFCS.  Stopped by the mailboxes this morning and noticed something new.  I wonder who is counting cars going down the ranch road?  Just so you know - there is plenty of room to drive around it as I did today and will continue to do if I need to go that direction.  64,83,43,0,C,0

third fence run...

Had a visit this morning from Roxanna and Kirk Kinder.  They were in town up in Alpine for the homecoming football game between Sul Ross and Howard Payne.  Kirk has the blessed job of being facilities and shelter manager for the Humane Society of North Texas "kindness, justice and mercy to every living creature".  Their son Eian is a 290lb freshman and plays center for the Howard Payne Yellow Jackets.  Nice of his folks to swing down south for a Field Lab visit before the big game.  They brought gifts for me and Ben and got Benita Tshirts in return.   Carl did his part and attacked Roxanna.  BTW...the Lobos trounced the Yellow Jackets today 58 - 17.

Stretched the longest run of fence today on the east side without a hitch.  63,85,58,0,W,0

Long day.  Pounded the rest of the T posts today.  Thanks to Joe, Tom, Bob, Jason, Mike.....and Steve, Pat and Tom...and Phil and his buddy (forgot to get a pic of them) for stopping by for a visit on their way to the chili cook off madness.  Carl got a cowboy hat from our friend Carla.  73,82,47,0,C,0

International Harvester Red

Last pole barn post firmly planted.  Drove 11 t posts with ease (happy it happened that way because it's the first time I've done t posts)

cuttin stem pipe

Got a magnificent weed growing in the greenhouse...and lots of jalapenos coming in.  Mr. and Mrs. Floppy had a late afternoon snack yesterday.  Cut up some pipe today for my corner H braces.  80,94,62,0,C, .26

assistant...

Staked and strung the new fence area.  Ben approved the corners.  Facebook friends of me or Longhorn Benita will be able to see a production still for tonight's blog photo.  Hired my friend Ron Mohr to come out next week and grade the perimeter for a nice/smooth fence install.  88,100,68,0,B,0
