my first app
Just joined the new age. Downloaded an app for a mobile device. Impulse buy due to a post on a paramotor group on Facebook. Even though I am not even flying, I talked myself into buying a smart phone (without the phone) device and an app that I couldn't resist. Bought a Samsung Tab 3 which includes GPS - ordered it yesterday afternoon and it arrived today. All so I could load in this... http://ppgps.info/ My first venture into Android Land. 90,100,69,0,B

looks like the interest and ardor in paragliding continues!
I presume you got the app on the phone via WiFi or USB since you're not using cellular ( which looks a little sparse in your neck of the woods anyhow).
oops ... looks like the "phone" is a "tablet"... my bad
Wow. Amazing. I remember when you just looked at the weather and decided whether to keep flying or turn back. I still like horse back riding though. And I think Bud has a friend which would be theraputic.
Now you need to buy a mount for it to have it on the paraglider. Then you need to buy some type of protection case for it, like an Otterbox. Oh, and an extra charge cord to keep in the truck. A few more apps and then you should be set.
You made a good choice, just don't become a slave to the device. It's an easy thing to do and it will distract you from the important things in life.
You're gonna like Android Land.
you would probably be better off smoking crack .. less addictive

I think there's an app for that...lol
are going to have WiFi at the Field Lab now?
;-)
Even with out the phone, there are several things you will learn to enjoy in Android-land. Have fun!
Download Skype for Android and you can make phone calls to any other Skype user via a WiFi connection. Get Dolphin for a browser. I switched from an Android smart phone to an Android smart phablet(tablet with a phone connection) last Dec. so that I could see what I was doing on the phone without switching glasses. Weather Underground is another great app.
