quad surgery

The ol' ATV has been leaking gas and simply stopping when there is still gas in the tank.  "Off" does not turn off the gas flow and "Reserve" does not allow enough gas to keep it running, but gas flows enough to overflow the carb and leak out when stopped.  Removed the tank and the carb.  Carburetor and petcock on the tank are beyond repair or rebuild.  New replacements coming next week.  90,99,67, .08",B

After ruining the carbs on many of my small four cycle motors (three lawn mowers & one electrical power generator)- I no longer used the ethanol laced version of gasoline. There are a few stations that still sell pure gasoline - that does not destroy carbs. The ethanol/gasoline stuff does (which is cheaper) not seem to bother my fuel injected turbocharged 2012 F 150 Ford truck.

Had a truck and put the cheap gas in and it destroyed the carb so I sold the old truck. In the end the truck kept stopping. The last brief stop was in 1990 on the Denali Highway (totally vacant of man and his devices) from Fairbanks to Anchorage. A lone car came and the people walked around my truck laughing. One of my Wolf/Shepherds stuck her head out the window and ripped someone's coat and the people left. Then a big reindeer herd walked around us so quietly.

That situation frequently leads to a crankcase full of gas as well...just did the same dance on a motorcycle that's been sitting and had to drain the oil and dump in some non-gassified oil. FYI

Has anyone here used an electric ATV or UTV for farming or ranching?
