That is the great message of love!

have to admit - it's beyond me.

That seems lovely for people in the U.S.

the part that is beyond me is the fact that it's a Christian message to Muslims who believe in Islam not Christian ....

to make this more understandable -

consider Muslims trying to convert Christians with passages from the Koran.

do you think that "works"?

I'm not advocating one or the other - I think man-created religion of any flavor is a pox on mankind and this is one of the reasons why- most religions cannot find common ground with other religions. It's "our" way or the highway... i.e. my religion is the true religion and yours is a false religion... and you will burn in hell for believing in the wrong religion.

right?

Powerful. Jesus is King. His love knows no bounds. Come, Lord Jesus, come to all your children who love you.

"But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible."
(Matthew 19:26)

John Wells said...

"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction." Christianity is not an invention of man, not a philosophy, or a frame of mind--it is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, which comes ONLY by trusting upon Him ALONE to forgive your sins. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

Each religion teaches that same idea to it's adherents... right?

I have a personal relationship with Jesus without practicing a religion.

And I do not buy what other men have written as to THEIR interpretation of what God expects from me - not from Christian religions nor other religions.

We have people die every day - basically because they do not believe the other guys religion... so they hate each other.

Irish Catholics hate Irish Christians

Bosnian Orthodox Serbs kill Muslim Serbs.

Sunni Arabs kill Shite Arabs,

this is fairly common.

I do not believe in a God that would tell people what religion is the "true" religion - yet that's exactly what the religions do..

"If you do not believe our version of God - he will send you to hell".

How can I truly believe any religion that is saying that millions are going to hell because they believe in the wrong religion?

"For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man:
but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."
(2 Peter 1:21)

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."
(John 3:16-17)

People are going to believe what they want to believe – you can't change their minds. The fact that they feel compelled to disrespect, shout down, or kill others who have different beliefs informs my opinion about those who profess their various faiths. Seems to me untold millions have died as the result of other's beliefs – from the Crusades on down to the present day's Islam vs. Christianity.

I'm just waiting for NASA to find the evidence of life on other planets so we can put this whole thing to bed.

And the greatest of these is love.

Unknown said...

"Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love."

(1 John 4:7-8)

Look at the number of times love is mentioned in the Bible vs the number of times mentioned in the Quran. Then look at the number of prophecies that have been fulfilled in the Bible. Of the 2500 prophecies about 2000 have been fulfilled exactly. The probability of that occurring is 1 in 10 to 2000th power or better put 1 in 10 with two thousand zeros after it. I BELIVE! This was a great post John Wells. Thank you and may God shine his face on you and the Field Lab.

I have no problems with what anyone wants to believe - just don't "witness" .. that's obnoxious.

Good stuff John, you are on the path as faith ALONE in Christ ALONE is the beginning or the non meritorious act of "spiritual" birth.
