Jobs' biological father was in fact from Syria - but hardly your "typical" refugee. Abdulfattah "John" Jandali was born into a Muslim household and grew up in Homs, Syria - the son of a self made millionaire. Jandali came to the US to pursue a PhD in political science from the University of Wisconsin. Jobs' biological mother was Jandali's teaching assistant - Joanne Carole Schieble, a Catholic of German descent who grew up on a farm in Wisconsin. Schieble's father did not approve of his daughter's relationship with Jandali at the time and forbade her to marry him. Only 23 years old, unwed, Catholic, and pregnant - she gave the baby up for adoption. Had the "right to choose" immoral tide existed and abortion been heavily promoted in 1954, Steve Jobs most likely would have never been born.  How many brilliant innovators have been lost to the 50+ million abortions that have occurred in this country since Jobs was allowed to live?  52,64,40,0,C

I would guess we lost the opportunity to have - at least 5 more brilliant innovators like Steve Jobs. This is based on my truly wild ass assumption - that these rare fellows occur about 1 in 10 million births. But none of that matters - the really sad part - IS THE 50 MILLION LIVES THAT WERE CUT SHORT DUE TO ALL THE ABORTIONS. --------------------- Mr. John Wells hit that nail squarely on the head!

Perhaps, but according to FBI stats, approximately 4 million of that 50 million would have been criminals of one sort or another and about 2000 of those would have been murders. Just sayin'.

Thanks Smack Mama. I learned that too but sometimes I forget it (at least in some of the scenarios in my mind) and it is nice to be reminded.

I did my DNA testing through National Geographic. And I found out I have DNA in Lebanon, Syria, and Iran. I imagine many of us have traces of that area of the world in our ancient history that we did not even know about. Then I am 1/10 of 1% from India which could be another common one (since they went from the Fertile Cresent of N. India up to NW Europe and taught the Germanic tribes how to farm and mixed in centuries ago). Thousands of years ago people wandered and migrated everywhere out of Africa (which started 60,000 years ago when the human race was dying out and there were only 10,000 people). They say the world is going to be tan and we will all be mixed. We are all related.

This country offered asylum for so many. It's possible we already have enemies here.

Perhaps Greg's awful statistics would not be so bad - if more of the children who are born - had a mother and father who jointly raised their children.

And if biology deemed that men could get pregnant, how different would the conversation about abortion be? Speaking of which, the brilliant Mr. Jobs refused to acknowledge his own offspring for many years, despite proven paternity. Yes indeed...what a different world it would be if men (brilliant or otherwise) had no CHOICE when it came to children and pregnancy.

Evil has no gender and earthly pleasure is its' favorite tool.

The picuter with its caption and the blog had widly different points. The blog part was spot on as for the poster he was most definitely a highly successful man but.

Evil may have no gender, but abortion sure does. And if you think abortion is all about "earthly pleasure", you have some big blinders on, John.

John Wells said...

The mechanics of sexual intercourse are intended for procreation only but because it feels good, the act is abused as an "earthly pleasure". This is NOT a war on women just because the woman is the one that bears the child. This is a war on moral conscience and human life.

On the flip side, it probably wouldn't have been so bad if Adolf Hitler's Mother had decided on an abortion I guess.

We have become a throw away society. Grandparents raising their grandchildren. With abortion comes many other throw away things we have sanctioned. From a wash machine that just does not last like it use to; to society saying it is alright to murder someone in the name of "execution for the state". Can we not teach our children that we value all our resources? Can we not teach our children that we value all life?
