palo verde

Was getting a little worried about my palo verde trees but they finally started leafing out about a month ago.  Nice little shower this afternoon with rain falling straight down for a change - usually our storms include wind that blows it sideways.  77,88,72, .14",B

Lovely. Look healthy. New beautiful budding life. Will they ever offer any shade? Will they continue to grow well out there? How tall are they and how tall will they get?

The momma tree I got the seeds from was 40' tall and thrived in Phoenix where it is even hotter than here.

aren't they beautiful! Love the one at the entrance to the RV park in Lajitas. The growth of the bark on that one was worth photographing when i was there last year. Turns out that a bar around the corner from my office right here in Houston (Doc's) has TWO of them planted on their property...right here in the heart of Houston. Can't believe that they're doing so well here...but landscapers are involved and they were already 6 feet tall when planted. Needless to say, they're getting plenty of rain (which isn't necessary). Happy to see buds on yours and wish you lots of those pretty yellow flowers. (FYI, Ben's birthday card went out this morning. Hope it gets there in time.)

You could plant several of the trees. Sounds like a good bet for shade and beauty. You could line your driveway entrance or by you shower or your building doors or wherever it would be safe. How about some good shade for Ben. There are probably several other colorful desert plants you could put out there. Would really look nice.
