How nice. Years ago I planted giant sunflower seeds by my porch and they grew so big like that. They do have roots when I took them out.
A weed is a flower that has not been discovered
A weed can also be a food (although I wouldn't recommend eating an unidentified weed). We have been studying weeds and watching Green Deane's you tubes from:

It looks like John's weed selection may be kind of sparse, but who knows what treasure you may find in the desert.
Even a weed can be beautiful if given an opportunity to develop.
