Nice to have Alpine close, at least you don’t have to go to see the doc for quite awhile for tests. Glad to hear you are ok

I love the little town of Alpine. Glad your Dr. visit went well. Stay warm out there.

Never will forget my first night spent in an Alpine motel! Was back in 1972 - 0n our first hunting trip to Terlingua Ranch. Dad, Don, & I got as far as Alpine - and the weather turned very cold with snow squalls. We decided it would be better to get a motel - than continue to the ranch - and try to set up our tents in the snow. Problem was every hunter had the same idea and all the motels were full up. Took a long time but we finally found a motel - but it was pretty shabby & run down - but we figured it was a lots better than camping out in the snow. Rather sleep on the dirty looking beds coverings - we placed our sleeping bags on the beds and called it a night. Since then - I have enjoyed many a night in Alpine & they were all much better than that first motel.

Alpine, Texas...spent three semesters at Sul Ross State many moons ago. Back then it was hard for me to appreciate small town living or the fact that the only radio station in town went off the air at 8:00 p.m.

For my mental sanity had to transfer to another university. Funny how one's perspective at eighteen tends to change as we get older. I now think Alpine is a beautiful little town.
