Ben started exhibiting signs of what could be a rectal prolapse - or perhaps just a cow's version of hemorrhoids. I contacted a friend who has known Ben since he was a pup. Her husband is a veterinarian and they are both well versed in large animal issues. They sent me some medication that reduces the swelling in the anal tissue to help relieve either condition. Back when I lived in NYC, I would have never imagined that someday I would be squirting medicine into a longhorn's butt. I also have to apply good old Preparation H to the outside daily. Ben doesn't seem to be in any distress and he has been taking the treatments like a champ. Chupa is always on hand for moral support. Special thanks to Terry Burger ( Ben's godmother) for sending the medicine and application instructions (and rubber gloves!). Looks like you and Ben have the situation "in hand." Hope all continues to go well with the treatment and Ben gets over this unfortunate episode. Speaking from experience, hemorrhoids are no fun.

Good for you, John, for all your caring and hard work. It's nice to know good people in this world.

Thank you for this dose of reality. Oddly enough, we got our starter herd of cattle last week (7 heifers) and the day I picked them up I was really paying attention to some excess flesh around one of the mama's mama areas and thinking that appeared to be perhaps rectal prolapse. No kidding, I visited TFL that evening and saw "rectal prolapse" which was a term bouncing around in my head earlier that day.

No I did not flip out, synchronicity has become a common thing and is less exciting these days than back in the beginning. But no doubt it is great!

I found this:

https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/passion/201712/synchronicities-sure-sign-youre-the-right-path

Which states syncrhonicity means one is on the right path. Good to hear that!

Nicely done. I have had to take my relationship with some of my critters "to the next level" and it is always uncomfortable. I felt that I should handle it if at all possible since a stranger do this would be worse for them.
