Chupa is on guard duty for you.
You might look into a cooling mattress topper on Amazon. They weigh about 15 pounds and would protect your mattress for a reasonable price. Mattress pads work too and would help to keep your mattress clean.
P.S. Hope Chupa is potty trained.
I already use a high quality mattress pad but this mattress is 15 years old and is showing it's age.
I get it! You need a new mattress.
It is actually in pretty good shape considering the age - because I clean it, air it out, and flip it once a year.
You are doing good. It sounds as if you still have some life in it. Guess you heard the old saying, "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without!"
Not a good idea to have wiring, or connections, under carpeting or a mattress. Could be a fire hazard.

WhyR....thank you for your insight. The wiring was not in contact with the mattress - even I am smarter than that. I thought about saying that the wiring was attached to the side of platform that the mattress was on - but that was just too wordy.
OK, you're off the hook.
A no bath man (recognized by him in posts), horrible teeth (several corrupted taken out etc), bad breath and now a mattress in such a poor condition. i/3 of his space taken, no partner known (male or female), disgusting guy
