I really enjoyed my drop-by last June, and I can tell you many on the SCWNet on Facebook are green with envy of your homestead, lab, Benny, etc. etc. FYI I might be able to do a slight dogleg coming from Brownsville in mid-August, thru Alpine & points south, on the way to El Paso...... Will let you know!

Luther - I checked out the Facebook page. Small world...one of the people who "liked" your post is Abe Connally. If it wasn't for him, I probably would have never found this area. He and his wife used to live out here and I discovered them in an article in Make Magazine about building homemade wind turbines. I made a trip out to visit their off-grid homestead about a year before deciding to move here.

That's cool--I suspect there are a lot more off-grids or wanna-go-offers that just need a Keving Bacon moment to jump from 6 to 1 degree of separation :)
