Perfect. Always great to see a reasonable result from local government.
Good. We hope all districts come to their senses.
I spoke with the folks in Tarrant County where my siblings and I recently inherited a house, and they told me they sent out over 600,000 residential notices and have as many protests filed, so we jumped on top of the pile. They also extended the protest filing deadline for everyone by a couple of months.
What districts have to come to their senses about is how to accurately appraise properties when market values skyrocket. Out here, the appraisal district was all over the place with appraisals and while some were correct or still undervalued - most were way overvalued. The problem they are having is that they missed the boat (and they are just being sloppy). The market peaked out here for most of 2021 and the first half of 2022 but our assessments didn't reflect that for 2022. And now they are trying to catch up in a time when prices are dropping, and it has become a buyer's market with realtors overloaded with listings (including 2 of my properties).

My five acre tract in Aqua Fria went from $5,000 to $40,000. Now it is appraised at $10,000.
