hole number 4...

Have yet to bottom out hole #3...decided to get started on #4 this morning.  Only got down about a foot then the hammer drill quit on me.  The dreaded worn brush syndrome.  Opened it up and sure enough, one of the brushes was down to nothin'.  Once again  http://www.ereplacementparts.com/ to the rescue.  New brushes will go out in the mail on Monday.

Took advantage of the sudden down time and changed the oil on the generator then baked some long overdue Field Lab specialty bread in the solar oven for my good neighbors.  Shot a video of how easy the caliche is to drill through.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmPQ9jlsJuM  98,104,73,0,B

Easy to drill, but hard to bust out. Or at least that's the way it works here.

Cool video!

Thats limestone rock. Caliche is the white marbled sand mix thats more chalkish rock and more clay like when wet.

I grew up in El Paso and my parents house had caliche in both yards. They used to make me dig up the caliche with only a shovel. They said it was for plants, but I think it was really punishment.

Thanks for the link to the parts supplier. Found out they have the rope recoil starter part for my Toro walk behind mower. And the carb parts needed.

Yeah, that's a great link to replacement parts.

That bread pic is making me hungry!

The video says it all. Lots-O-Drillin' = Easy Bustin'.
