As for the plants....the spider mites love cherry tomato, cardinal, and squash. They seem to be ignoring my 6' beefsteak tomato plant that is in dire need of pruning. It should start setting fruit when it cools a bit in two months (if I can keep it alive that long). Lemon cucumber plant is huge but no fruit....same with my melon plant. Got one healthy avocado growing well. 79,103,73,0,B,0

took one look @ M. Floppy and this started playing in my head... feel you dawg....
LH - ouch
hi John, multi year lurker/reader here ;o)
use hot pepper spray for the spider mites, I mix mine with jalapenos n some cookin oil
here is a recipe or you can google for more http://www.rollitup.org/bugs/475307-how-kill-spider-mites-100-a.html
for your non fruiting plants; loosely roll up a lil cotton ball on a stick and start pollinating, a little paint brush works too
bhr
BTW the hot pepper spray works GREAT on aphids too, who seem to just love my sweet cali peppers
I have used Q-Tips to pollinate Squash. A gentle touch works well. ;-)
When the temperature is up over 100 you can pollinate to your hearts content, but most tomatoes and cucumbers will not set fruit !!!
Sure the heat wont allow a lot of fruits to set. Same issue here in Florida if you don't get them in the ground soon enough and you run into summer heat, issues arise. You may have to get a swamp cooler or 2 into your green house.
I thought you had misters and stuff set up in there ?
what are the temps getting to in your grow room?
Also hows the solar oven going. Haven't heard any test results.

poor sweet Floppy is looking pretty rough. Could it be the fault of that long-legged huzzy in the background? Little fellow is looking pretty gray. Hope all is well with him. Miss seeing his sweet face around TFL.
Do you have any honeybees doing the pollinating out there. I have seen some bee hive equipment in the greenhouse before, do you still have bees?
Yup, Mr. Floppy looks a little the worse for wear. Probably because he's been trying too hard to impress that good-looking girlfriend there.
Good luck with the plants. I have no words of advise there, as I have no green thumb.
