...they grow up so fast

Ol' Doc Cain and nurse Bonnie came by this morning to band Ben.  He took it like a champ...didn't even flinch.  Gotta steer in the makin now.  My friend Terry Burger came by for a first meeting - post op.  I think they bonded.  The little guy dropped what was left of his umbilical cord this afternoon....next thing you know, he will be going off to college.  98,105,72,0,C,0

That thing that Doc is holding my wife has several of. When I first meet her some 14 years ago, I asked her what they were and she looked at me and said that is how you make a bull into a steer. I knew right away that if this relationship was going to go anywhere, I had best gather them suckers up and the bands that go with them!

4 great pics! The Cains are a very beautiful couple and their kindness shows through. And lil Ben looks like he's thinking of eating that hat. maybe the umbilical cord, and the other stuff that's gonna come off, can go into Ben's Baby Book.

Ben has taken front stage with this blog. Enjoying Ben's story line. How old is he?

— guessing Carl made sure he was no where near during that banding procedure... no sense taking any chances, it's not like he's a bird brain cluck, cluck, yuck and not a peep out of Mr. Hopper.

Cool stuff. Dick and Bonnie are the real deal.

How does that banding business work? I know that they loose their nut sack, but what, exactly, is causing it?

Any plans of saving that umbilical cord? I bet you could auction it off to the highest bidder here on the blog.

Continued well being to you and all your critters.
