Earthbox

If lovin' chicken is wrong...then my chickens don't wanna be right.  Yes...chickens love to eat leftover chicken.
They picked the bones clean.
Ben got a new tip to tip measurement today.  Last one was on January 10th.  He is up to 16 3/16" - growing at a rate of about 3/4" per week now.  Next milestone is when his horns are as long as his ears.

I filled up the bio orb composter with a fresh batch of old hay, horse and steer manure today.  While I was at it - I sowed 5 of last years Earthbox planters ( www.earthbox.com ) with kale, pole beans, yellow squash, green zucchini, and spinach.  I am starting from seed this time instead of seedlings.  I had great success with this growing system last year.  Replanting them is much cheaper than the initial cost and these should last for many years to come.  48,62,27,0,B,0

Well, I just don't know what to say about Carl eatin left over chicken, except, i guess you didn't want chicken salad or chicken soup, or didn't have frozen storage available. As for Ben's horns, that boy is gonna be growing fast now. And I swear, first look, I thought the planter boxes were leather couches and you'd turned the greenhouse into a meditation center.....and I was even watching today (on and off) while you were preparing those things! Busy day at TFL.

the Terlingua henny-penny zombiepocalypse led by Carlos the Cannibal... can the moooovie (Ben directing/Bud producing) and graphic novels be far behind?
Like Elmer was saying the other night, "maybe it was all that cinnabar laying around... that left us all feeling a bit on edge and peckish...
and not ready to roost under that sliver of a hangnail moon..."

Yes planter boxes are a great idea, as long as you can get them for free, otherwise a little plastic and some 2 x 4's will do the same thing.
