I love the big skies of the west..
and am fascinated how the more arid parts of the Southwest evolved during human settlement.
At one time - Native Americans and generations of Hispanics struggled to deal with the fickle nature of the weather and climate there.
When the smaller streams dried up during drought- people migrated to the bigger rivers like the Rio Grande to survive and today if you fly over the Rio Grande you'll see great swatches green circles from irrigation.
John's adventure and saga is fascinating and compelling..both as a person and his personal quest.
