He is not a prophet. But he is a highly intelligent person (157 I.Q.) who cares about his country and is doing the best he can.
I guess I have a problem with him constantly lying every time he gives a speech...
His honesty astounds me and how he has gotten away with it so far. Politicians are afraid of that. Their secrets are getting out. He has done wonderful things for people and is a good, kind, gentle, caring person. He does have some tough people surrounding him. He is not perfect but who is.
I shudder to think of Ms. Clinton getting in. She cares nothing for men or women and is so mean and lies and to put her stalker husband in the White House. My good friend who has since passed away at age 65 was immediately concerned about him years ago. Anyway Clinton and Trump are cousins and have some things in common so what difference does it make. Some of our leaders could and do go to prison for their disgressions. No one is perfect. That's why some people don't say much about the truth because they could be harassed, killed, put on a watch list, destroyed with gossip, and so on. This is not a utopia. Ms. Clinton is up in the polls. We are going to have a devastating crash one of these days anyway.
I just found out one of my ancestors, Joseph Warren, was killed fighting the red coats for independence from England.
Trump may be scary to some, but after the last 8 years Clinton is a horror movie.
I read an article recently, it made me think about the complacency so many people have developed. The quote from Trump in the article was:
"If we don’t get tough, and if we don’t get smart, and fast, we’re not going to have our country anymore. There will be nothing — absolutely nothing — left.” Donald Trump
Bryan Kayton
We have Supreme Court judges who need to be nominated and Trump suggested a few good ones. The Republicans want conservative judges.
My relative Earl Warren was a Supreme Court judge and I believe he was a good one.
There is a reason the talking heads of the establishment are worried about Trump. One he isn't politically correct. He says what most people think. Two he wants to change this country back to what it once was, a sovereign independent country that looks after its citizens interests. Thirdly he has enough money and self esteem, that he won't be bought. The old boy corrupt business as usual politicos don't want the game to change. The globalist one world government advocates see him as a threat to their agenda. Is Trump perfect? No but he is probably the best hope the average working stiff in this country has of having real representation. He will be an advocate for this country and its people, not an apologist.
Well, he is in my generation and I know most of those people were more or less religious idealists who had higher scrupples. He is also more or less an Ivy League person and those young men were the cream of the crop. Can't get any better. I am not a minority or an inner city poverty stricken drug addict and I don't want yo screaming, mean mama Clinton or her wandering stalker husband, and their lying bitch Indian friend. Trump would be a strong international figurehead who could negotiatiate. I don't want some wrinkled old woman who acts like she is going through the menopause and makes poor decisions to represent us internationally. Oh wait, that would be two lezzy bitches to represent us (the Vice President too).
Trump is far from perfect, but he is our country's best hope for returning to a time when the government serves the people rather than the other way around. I hope we are as brave and wise in November as the UK citizens were in their BREXIT vote.
There are so many checks and balances in our government anyway. And with a 157 I.Q. Trump can be a quick study. He is already friends with some people in the government. Just because he did not spend his life learning to be a corrupt politician like many doesn't mean he cannot lead and do well.
On the other hand, if Clinton wins and when we have the big crash and we are let down, she will have everything in place so we can be socialists. Just look at Venezuela. And things will be available for my great grand daughters who need female things.
No, I do not want to be over run by hundreds of thousands more unvetted Muslims. The emails are enough. Not more terrorists. Yes, I have history in that area, but I don't want sharia law here. A Muslim girl yesterday offered to help me with scarves. No, I have my own value system. I am still a proud American. Now, legal immigration is a different story.
I've been a quiet follower of this blog since the Benita days, love the photos of vast West Texas, the ingenuity of creating a sustainable home in a desolate, yet stunningly beautiful, part of the planet. I love Ben and the chickens and the rooster(s), the rabbits, the donkeys...
Today, however, I am rethinking my love of the site. I know it's a political year. I know the choices are what they are. I know Trump never thinks before he speaks and that Clinton is the lesser of two evils. I know he's 70 and she's 68. I know that she's at least diplomatic while he's a loose cannon. His 'press conference' on his Scottish golf course the day Great Britain became less great and the world economy was staggered is something I'll not forget anytime soon. I also know that perhaps being a native of Houston from its small town days to the major city it has become has broadened my experiences, my scope, my opinions, my acceptance of the world as it is. I am saddened by reading that female candidates for high office must inevitably be called 'lezzy bitches.' Saddest of all, though, is that description came from another woman.
Barbara, I must disagree with you on who would be the lesser of two evils, but I certainly agree that the site has changed dramatically. It used to be about off the grid sustainable living...now it is increasingly about religion and politics. It reminds me much of what happened to Mother Earth magazine when it became more about politics.
Do you think we could convince John to start another blog for his religious and political views and keep The Field Lab true to it's origin?
in·teg·ri·ty is all that separates Donald Trump and the Presidency
I agree but it's John's blog and his views. I just don't usually read it on Mondays, having had my own Sunday in my own church and not feeling any need for additional sustenance. The only reason I read it today was to follow up on yesterday's offerings, hoping against hope that things had eased up a tad. Only to find they had worsened.
I don't know. I think I'll just move to Mexico.
John owns this Blog and it is his right to post any religious, political, or daily living thoughts - as he wishes! Only takes one click - to go elsewhere - so why bore us with all the repetitive gripes? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------As a Trump supporter - I view John's last post as a question - because he included a ? mark after "false prophet". I believe Trump demonstrated his "SMARTS" - when he whipped 16 other Republican candidates - without obligating himself to the "PAY FOR PLAY" crowd! And spent vastly fewer of his own dollars - while doing that!
The only thing that can be "agreed" upon here is that everyone "disagrees."
I'm sorry Barbara.
I learned that when the women take over the government and the men are away fighting, it is the beginning of the downfall of a nation. Clinton people have been hammering me for money, which annoys me too. She has nothing to offer that I want but Trump does. I am going to vote for myself for the policies I want. It is just that simple. I am a female but all my life my tests show I think more like a man. So be it. If I were younger, her policies might have interested me. Men are dominant. That will never change. (But there are some brilliant women who keep them alive and afloat. :-)
Thank you, Margery.
You are correct, Ronald Mahan, it's John's blog to post whatever he wants to. I was just pointing out that up there at the top of the page it is still advertised as being about "life off the grid" and "an experiment in sustainable living". It would seem reasonable to provide what is advertised. But if you like the bait and switch....enjoy.
Lol
@Margery
I take exception with your assessment that women leading governments lead to a nation's downfall. Margaret Thatcher, Angela Merkel, Indira Ghandi, Helle Thorning-Schmidt, Park Geun-hye, Erna Solberg, and Simonetta Sommaruga come to mind. Last time I checked, those countries were not heading for a "downfall." Of course, Indira Ghandi has long since departed. I'll give you Brazil and Argentina, though. Those two leaders totally blew it.
Trump? Just his tax plan alone would lead to the rapid decline of the US.
False prophet?
Yes.
Yes, I'd say he is.

not a field lab must be a political lab lol
I was originally for Ted Cruz, but now Trump will be our nominee so I will lsupport Trump. Clinton is the most evil, corrupt individual person on this planet, other than Obama and I will do everything possible to prevent her from getting to the White House. What I can not believe is that people would continue to support her when they know she bought and sold this Country and favors from this Country through her Clinton Organization by using her position as Secretary of State and using a private server so no one could track what she was doing. She let 4 men die in Benghazi rather than let Obama and her secret of supplying weapons to the enemy be revealed. She is one person that is for Hillary only and how a position can further her fortune.
Trump has done a great job at tricking people about his true nature. Do a google search for "trump university" and read up. He is in the casino business too, which is definitely not something I would consider righteous, and even with what some might consider ill gotten gains, he has still had had to declare bankruptcy four times!
I don't like hillary either, by the way! This election is just depressing all around!
You said it Johnny. True.
A former secret service agent from the White House said Bill had many affairs in the White House (and men too) and they had to cover for him and at one time they wondered if Hilliary (a reputed lesbian) was a danger to be there with him because she was so violent and abusive and hit him, threw vases, yelled, etc. and was so very verbally abusive to the staff and other people who worked for her - probable reason for the man's suicide. (And I will never forget the look of cold, sheer hatred she gave me when Bill said he liked something I said years ago before anyone knew them - and I personally know he is a stalker and my friend and his friends drove me to a different location). A lot of people who support her now are young and do not know their past. The agent on t.v. Last night said she and the corruptness should not be back in the White House and there is some legal question because the two of them together we're already in for two terms (the limit). The people in Benghazi knew about her giving guns to the enemy.
@Margery
What ARE you watching? The SciFi Channel?
This will be a terrible week for Hillary lovers - with the release of both - the Secret Service Agent Expose and the Bengazhi Report. No SciFi - just the dirty laundry the Clintons left for the world to view! By comparison, Trump looks like a saint!
Trump is Elmer Gantry "lite". I was a Bernie supporter, but will be thrilled to vote for Hillary. Unlike Margery, I don't believe it will be bad to have "women take over the government"...!
Ronald, sorry but the latest Benghazi report leaves no flies on Hillary. Trey Gowdy tried his best but found no smoking gun. It's a terrible week for HIM, I'm afraid, and the GOP in general.
Margery, I just love your comments. Keep 'em coming!
J said & Barbara,
Thank God this is still America and John, or you, or anyone, can say what you would like. This may not last for long since the Obama Administration is giving the internet to an organization similar to the U.N.
When Russia, North Korea, China, etc. have an veto vote on free speech on the internet Obama will have completed his fundamental change of America, IF not already, reading some of these comments.
One more thing:
I have followed John and his blog for about 7-8 years now, shortly after he started and went back to the beginning and read every post.
Never have I had a thought to say what he should write about, I just enjoyed his posts or skipped over them, (sorry John). In the now famous saying, "it is what it is". Get over it.
I consider it a privilege to view one man's life in a place I may never get to experience.
And in 7-8 yrs. this is probably the 4th or 5th time I made a comment.
Oh my no,no Pamit. You missed the report later today of the official report of two years on Benghazi. It is 100 pages and can be read on the Fox Internet site. She and her people lied and were directly responsible. A man (Mr. Stevens maybe) at Benghazi knew she gave guns to the enemy. With his death, her secret was kept. They had asked over 600 times for security. ( A Seal flew on his own to help but it was not enough). Clinton was in a meeting for hours while it was happening and never sent help deciding how to spin the story. Afterwards to Congress, she yelled about Benghazi when questioned, "what difference does it make?" But then, why would a power hungry, betraying money grabbing , liar, and sociopath care anyway. (She is a very, very distant cousin of Trump).
@Phil "... since the Obama Administration is giving the internet to an organization similar to the U.N". Now that's funny
Woosh wanted to get in on what may be the biggest field lab blog post comment section in TFL history. Awesome post John
Even a false prophet beats the Goddess of evil.

A friend told me I need to concentrate on my daily life and forget about all this.
