Overdue supply run to Alpine (slight chance of rain coming up Saturday). Took the first junk load out - the trash. Recyclables will have to wait for the next trip. As long as I was at it...decided a car wash would be a nice idea. It has been over 5 years since I sprayed the truck down good. Discovered you have to get the spray nozzle really close to remove dirt that old. 84,89,47,0,B

Truck looks good. Of course, we like a little salt and rust on 'em up here in Michigan. :-)
Lol Sam. I once had a Chevy station wagon with some rusted out floorboard on the drivers side and no accelerator pedal (just pedal rod or pole), no radio, no heater, new retread tires. But it had a rebuilt motor and ran like a top. It had some sort of faded off-red color. It took me into town to get bottles of water, do laundry, get groceries, and go to the Univ. and to Chicago to get children's clothes for the school year (which were stolen right after purchased). But getting back to U.P. Was magical- such beauty of nature.
John, at first I thought you were going to tell us you got a new vehicle. It is in amazingly good shape. (My vehicles have scratch marks from dog claws and big muddy dog prints on them. People in the city just gaze at the big paw prints. 😏
Don't sweat the small stuff. Nothing is forever is it. I just enjoy the moment. I like to sit outside with my dogs and look at the trees and sky and birds and enjoy the bird songs. (If I leave the t.v. On at night and there is a weather disaster and my dogs see it and the swaying trees and rain, when they go outside they just look up at the trees in wonder. Because here they are now swaying, no rain or wind and the sky is beautiful blue. Not a bad place to live. 😌
My vehicles in NY were solid rust underneath thanks to the salted roads.
I lived in va beach and my whole car was rusted shut. Took my girlfriend on our first date and opened the passenger side door and she said "awww your car may be raggedy but at least your a gentleman" and I said Yea, but I need to get in on this side.
company must be coming...
I just sold an 85 Ford F150 Lariat 4x4 pickup truck that spent most of its life (far away from the northern states salty roads) - and on the Terlingua Ranch. There wasn't a speck of rust on that truck and the original paint still looked new. Of course the wiring was in need of some repairs because of pack rats chewing on some wiring - while it resided in it's desert home garage!
