That structure next to the solar rack looks a lot like your hut with out windows. Good work by the way.
I agree with Billy Ray, looks good. Where do you get the steel and where did he get the building supplies, store and city, so I can check prices and availability. Closest Lowes I found is in Odessa. Who is the place that rents shipping containers there also. Deed should be here any day now.
Billy ray...yes, he modeled his structure after my hut - and he did all the hard work setting the posts and cutting, grinding, and fitting all the parts. All I had to do was zap it all together. JDB...He got his building materials at McCoys in Alpine. He bought the steel from Johnson Feed in Alpine. Their steel is more expensive than Mueller - but a lot closer. There is a local guy that rents shipping containers...http://terlinguaministorage.com/ Or you can buy them with delivery included from http://www.centurytrailersftstockton.com/
Thank you for all the info John!
Shamrock Steel in Odessa can supply just about any steel product at market prices, by weight, if you looking at larger purchases. Steel beams come in 40' lengths - cutting charges apply for shorter lengths.
I bought I-Beams for a shade structure and the prices were competitive with steel yards in San Antonio,
Looks like a sturdy rack... What size and wattage are his solar panels going to be?
