You don't see jack rabbits often any more around here. One dark night my dog scratched at the door and I let him in without turning on the light. I felt something brush against my leg and turned on the light. He had a headless jack rabbit in his mouth. Yikes! I have seen hairless heads, but it was the first time I ever saw a headless hare. He probably found the fresh killed rabbit and decided to bring it in to a safe place. Not my house!
