In 1996, my photographer buddy Dan Winters broke his neck in a mountain biking accident. He had to wear this "halo" for 3 months. I shot this on super 8 when I was in LA on some jobs. Dan had already been in the halo for a month when he went back to work shooting portraits. I assisted him on his first job after the accident - a portrait of Tony Curtis for Esquire. Mr. Curtis
this Vanity Fair shoot looked fun…
Yes...that Dan Winters. He has done pretty well in the photo world.
TY remmij for the pictures. I never recognize well-known people when I first see them. Maybe that is a blessing. But I have met many and would have some stories which go unheard. (Maybe I could have been one when they took me out to John Wayne's movie set in Texas and wanted me to be in the movies when I was young. But I had a government security clearance then and chose to stay with my job.)
Margery, you are up awfully late… or early -
it may have changed the course of history… John & Mr. Winters may have done a photo shoot of you… for an article about
how your Hollywood career started at the Alamo… ;-) (who is 'they'?)
