Gennie love...

Recently had to loan out my 3000 watt All Power generator so I thought I would see how my trusty old Generac was doing.  This generator is 12 years old and powered through a lot of projects as well as all the welding I did on the greenhouse.  All I have done for this over the years is replace the AVR and brushes twice.  Easily got it started after sitting idle for over 3 years (I am a big fan of starting fluid) - but the carb and gas lines are shot.  Ordered replacement parts for a total of $44.34 on Amazon.  92,98,78,0,B

Something I have always done on my power equipment is shut off the fuel & run the carb dry. I have never had a storage problem doing this. Sometimes I use some Stabil also.

A venerable beast kindly shepherded.

Nice. Those carbs are so cheap it’s easier to replace than to try cleaning one out.

The next generator should be dual fuel and then run it on propane. Ideally get a 200 gallon or bigger lp tank. Propane lasts for decades in storage and does not foul the carb.
