KRTS Marfa Public Radio

A bit behind schedule - the KRTS Marfa Public Radio spring pledge drive ends tonight and I have yet to renew my membership. Killed a couple of birds with one stone today...will deliver the dough to them Tuesday. Doing a supply run tomorrow and will drop off a loaf of "Benita approved" Field Lab Solar Oven Bread along with a check to the radio station.

Sussed out the parts list to complete the solar fryer today, ordered more mirrors, then just played with the longhorns. Pulled the loaf out of the oven then hit the road south for some porch time and dinner with Dr. Doug at the Starlight Theatre. Looking forward to a couple of 100+ degree days coming up. 64,86,33,0 To those new to the blog....the numbers I post are as follows: temp at 8PM, high temp of the day, low temp of the day, rainfall.

100+ degree days!? How do ya survive? The little evaporative cooler you made work that well? I will need to read over the old entries when you set up the cooler.

90 to 95 is all I've seen forecast, but it usually turns out warmer or colder than the forecast so could be in the hundreds. Looks like I'll be spending a lot of daylight time outdoors under the shade if so.

Tuned in to the webcam today; you were scratching Benita's head while NPR reported in the background heightened security in NYC's subway system following the suicide bombings in Moscow. It illustrated how far away you are from that world and those man-made issues. It must be liberating.

Keep up the good work, sir.

the only crazy bullshit I have to put up with out here...I simply shovel into the compost.

Terrific photos as usual! Thumbs up to disposable BS. I don't know what's hotter...tomorrow's forecast or you out on the town with doc ;o)

Pretty signficant temperature swings from daytime low to high. Is a 50F swing pretty normal for this time of year down there?

Webcam seems to be stuck on same pic. Benita hasn't moved in 2 days?
