in for the big chill...

Cold front pouring down on TFL for the next couple of days.  All stocked up on propane and beer to weather the big chill.  Drained the thermosyphon on my solar water heater - just in case.  Pondered my parts piles till I found just the right stuff for the new IP cam jig - the FrankenRig.  Gutted two old satellite dish mounts and cobbed them together to give me 3 axis pointing capabilities.  My efforts were rewarded with news (I got on facebook) that there is such a thing as bacon flavored vodka available...just when I thought life couldn't get any better.  http://www.bakonvodka.com/

Have you tried frying up some bacon, putting it in a cocktail glass and pouring vodka over it?

Might add one of them little umbrellas to it.

John!
Glad to hear you are keen to bacon vodka!! There is actually a great recipe for a bloody mary made with bacon infused vodka! It comes by way of our weird friends in Austin, TX that have crafted a cocktail in honor of the great Willie Nelson.....the Red-Headed Stranger!! It is made with bacon infused vodka ( Tito's of course! ), as well as a house made bloody mary mix. No doubt you could cook some bacon in your solar oven, whip up a batch of Field Lab Mary Mix...and create your own masterpiece!
The cocktail is originated from Frank! Purveyors of Artisan Sausage... on 4th st. & Colorado in our state's capitol, and when you get to producing in the green house, save a few tomatos and such for your mix! Oh yeah, be sure to garnish with a pepperoncini, cheddar cheese cube, jalapeno stuffed olive, and a whole strip of bacon! Once you have one, it will compare to none. All you need to do is cook some bacon, and mix the whole thing ( drippings and all ) with your vodka! A little hair of the dog that is both Texan, and awesome at the same time! Prosit my friend!!

Hmmm needs Tabasco.

Tabasco should be in the mix ( as the mix should be both tomato-ish as well as spicy ). I forgot to add that you should strain the vodka, as to not have any solids in the liquid....Once these doubters have had a taste, they will believe in the communal power of bacon, and if not, we still love them anyhow!

There is very little in the world that can't be made better by the addition of bacon.

The IP cam mount looks great. You have a way with parts. That unsecured line feeding into the camera looks like it might attract bovine nibblers, though. I would secure it in conduit, if I could find conduit large enough to fit the ends of the wire through.

I would of never thought of bacon vodka. I clicked the link, and it looks great, though. I will look for it in my local beverage emporium.

I ran into rough weather the last two nights on my run out to Stanton. Hope you're staying warm.
