tub poppin...

First big blooms on a squash plant today - started from seed 7 weeks ago.  Started prepping more planting tubs.  These things are next to impossible to separate by hand.  Tried drilling a little hole in the bottom of each one - applied some compressed air - and POP!  73,80,52,0,W

If your squash goes like mine did last year, you'll be up to your ears in it in no time.
You might think about dehydrating some of it. It rehydrates wonderfully and given your local, it'd be an easy thing to do.

The tubs had molasses cow feed in them. That is why they are so hard to pull apart.

You needed a drain hole anyway

Squash blossoms are delicious and have a really neat, crunchy texture. Eat them in a salad or grill them for a few seconds (literally, maybe 5 seconds).

My brother-in-law in the plastics industry says PVC fails explosively. So be careful!

Squash, yum.

Great idea to get those tubs apart. Good thing you had the compressed air.
