southland

Ventured out into the Solitario and found my 20 acre tract today.  Rather benign piece of land but lots of nice scenery on the way out to it - 11 miles off the highway (6.5 miles SW of TFL as the crow flies).  The roads were pretty good but there is one Terlingua Creek crossing and lots of washes on the way there - not a place to be or a place to go to after a heavy rain.  73,86,58,0,B,0

feral caballo? the roads look pretty well traveled.
the mud cliff formation on the right side of the bottom pic is wild.
nice blue gradient in the one with the truck, Montana would have nothing on that sky.
this is nw CO., but you get the point

Those are fantastic, stark, beautiful images. Do you ever get nostalgic for trees?

Ha 2ligit! I see it too. There's another formation that looks like a sleeping Abe Lincoln on the road from Marfa to Presidio.

The road into the Field Lab's branch office in the Solitario is spectacular - like driving on the moon. It would make a fantastic film location.
