At least you are not looking for love in all the wrong places. I am not, anyway.

they all appear to have a serious case of "drone ears"?
seeing what is normally unseen.

Interesting thing is that these guys are "invasives" and probably referred to as "ferral"
They were not around nor used by Native Americans as domestic animals - like they were in Europe and Spain which is where these guys ancestors came from.

As far as I can tell.. Native Americans were quick to adopt the ownership and use of horses but not so much the burro.

But the burro was and remains an important domesticated animal in other parts of the world.

Here.. they mostly live the life of Riley!

Remmij, excellent message. Appropriate. Larry, yes, I think quite a few people have used burros. I even saw one in Study Butte fenced in a Spanish man's yard. I was showing it to my dog. John, I still like that picture. Opened my iPad and saw it first thing this morning. Very soothing. Animals won't betray you. They are just so honest. When I ask my dogs which one did it, one will fess up sometimes. :-)

As they say.. I want to be the person my Dog thinks I am... !!! ;-)

by the way... Camels were also introduced to the Southwest.. but did not do near as
well as the burros... in adapting ...

I would love to know why John used this caption for that beautiful picture. Are not the burros of this world? Is he making a point about animals being different from us exalted humans, vis-a-vis God? Hmm. Or, showing that the scenes and life around him is something most do not get to see? Is it obvious to everyone but me?

Anyway, the picture is beautiful and quite other-worldly, to me.
