Matthew 5 37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.
41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Well, then there's that...
Don't worry, John. He's going to make the Republican party and religion Great Again!
there is no man-solution to a spiritual problem.
couldn't come up with a worse combination than religious folk and politics... religious folks even hate each other if they are not of the same beliefs!
Politics and religion. Touching on the two things that fire up any headline reader in the world. Its your site and I enjoy coming to it.
My 2 cents on Donald Trump and religion.
I like what Trump says, of course he's a professional salesmen so he's practiced many times to get you to like what he says. The one thing he said that grabbed my attention was "I don't need their money."
He does hit on some neat talking points as far as why we keep getting ripped off in trade deals. China owns the most US bonds and such of any foreign country. My thinking on the reason we're getting screwed on China trade deals is a back room deal was made, where they keep buying our treasuries and we keep letting their cheap goods into our country. Its only be recently that the incomes in China would allow them to buy expensive American made goods. They still don't have the ability to buy as much from us as we do from them. That's imo a lot of the reason why we have a trade gap with china.
As far as Trump becoming president well its not going to happen. Ted isn't going to win it either, if thats what you're wanting. I feel the next president is going to be HRC. This imo is being done on purpose by the RNC as both parties are now very much the same.
Heres how it works out.
Trump comes in and sells the majority of the normal repubs but can't get them all due to the religious people , they will like Cruz because well he's religious and thats good enough for them. How ever Cruz can't win because Trump supporters won't vote for Cruz as he's now Lyin Ted to us, we wont vote for HRC because shes a dang criminal and we hate her to the core. We won't vote for Sanders because "oh hes a socialist as we've been told in the headlines", so a lot of republicans just wont vote out of hard headness and "suddenly we just realized the systems a scam". Personally I am surprised at this sudden realization but whatever.
So here we are with the republican party in shambles and what are we left with, HRC as president.
All set up and packaged. The system is a scam and its a scam to keep the power with the power, been that way for a long long long time.
So run along and vote for Ted, I'll vote for Trump and Hillary will win because we're a bunch of hard headed people who want change but can't agree on how to get there.
Thats my 2 cents but actually its now only worth like 1/10 of a cent.
Love your site John and thanks for the forum.
I'd love to see both liberals and conservatives split into a couple (or more) different parties. Both groups are ripe for it, that's clear. Switzerland has like 17 different political parties, fostering alliance and compromise and in the end, citizens' votes make more of a difference, than happens here.
Here, it's all about the money. The worst excesses of capitalism and a 2-party system have made it so. I'm voting for Bernie - he's the only one speaking even a remote version of what I see as the truth.
Cruz scares me way more than Trump. I keep thinking of Elmer Gantry when I see his pious puss on the screen.
A friend of mine posted this on Facebook today..."When people tell me it's taboo to publicly discuss religion and politics, I say that was standard fare at the start of our country. We have lost our ability to think critically and, in an adult-like way, discuss the issues. Our school system is guaranteeing our bleak future by producing students who know the names of actors & athletes, but not the name of our VP. We currently have a POTUS whose yearbook has a photo of his drug dealer. In contrast, we have a candidate whose yearbook lists every future goal he wanted to achieve, and has, but for one. Straight A's, top of his class, athlete, class officer, newspaper, national champion debater, audiographic memory, articulate, principled, intelligence off the charts.....and yet the person in the lead is a whiny, confrontational narcissist with a heart for vengeance, just like the current WH occupant. Go figure! I'd say Ted Cruz has, and will, invest that kind of time for our country."
Larry, around here, religious folks don't even get along in the same congregation. So they take some people and go down the road, around the corner and start a new church. And oh the scandles. Remember, many are born again and have pasts and haven't changed much.
Many Latinos in San Antonio are are really happy about their time coming at last. They are waiting with great happiness for the coming Latino event in the White House. It came quicker than predicted for the minority to become the majority ruling elite. My daughter says the white mans time is over.
Margery - that's exactly right - religious folks are often not interested in compromise and common ground -they'd rather split the congregation - but we cannot do that with a country very easily.
I don't think the white mans time is over - but he will have to learn to share better than he has.
I mean Spanish speaking people, Mexican people, Hispanics. Whatever is correct. I don' t know.
Lol. That's true Larry.
The establishment government people are afraid of Trump. He is so educated, has done so many good things, speaks the truth, and is not bought and paid for like a wishy-washy weed blowing in the wind ready to do anyone's bidding.
The Left does a better job of convincing people that they are victims than Conservatives do of convincing these people that it is The Left that is victimizing them.
The caucasion people around here at the golf club voted for Trump even thought the Mexican man helping us with the machines stopped the pointer at Cruz but we urged him to go on down the list. So much for a secret ballot.
I belonged to the Trump Association by invitation and Trump is an amazing person.
I might vote for HRC - or not. My health care is the best. She fits in with the system. (I am tired though of being bugged to give a dollar). No I don't really want a Special Place in Hell for not voting for her since I am a woman. :-) And I am not a big money interest person. We are someday going to have a big crash no matter who is in.
I might vote for HRC because as a woman, I do not want a special place in Hell if I do not vote for her.
