I am digging through the archives to post videos that I have made over the past 35 years. Most of them are on VHS and I am trying to find one of my old VCR's to I can transfer all of them to a digital format. "How We Make the City Bakery Croissant"...is a film I shot for my friend Maury Rubin in 1995 at his bakery in Manhattan. I used a Bell and Howell Travelmate T20 XL super 8 film camera. The City Bakery is still going strong to this day. News Theme 2 by Audionautix is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/...)

I transferred all my sister's films she made in the 80s and 90s to cd from vhs in the early 2000s. She got a machine that did it automatically, just put the vhs and cd in and it was done in 10-15 minutes. I made a bunch of vhs with my ex and her 3 little girls in mid 90s. She took all but one. I converted it at the same time and have it on hard drive. I took a few stills out of it I posted a few years back. Memories...never thought you would have to change the format when we were making them :D
I remember seeing what I thought was a VHS player in one of your container cleaning videos.
I still have my old one from 1990s and in 2016 repaired/cleaned one for a friend at church who still watches them. I gave him a desktop and 30inch lcd with hundreds of videos and he kept getting it off SOURCE and calling me to say the computer wasn't working. He eventually brought it back to me and gave up on it. I had Linux Mint running it and 2 clicks with the mousepad built into the keyboard and he could have a video going.
He's over 80 and does everything, lives in a camper and independent to a fault, like most of us. If he liked heat, I would have brought him with me. I have spent more time with him in the last three years than anyone else, gonna miss him.

TY. Interesting. Speaking of NYC, I learned tonight why this old, archaic, Applachian woman married to some of my English relatives was yelling obscenities about me which prompted me to do my DNA testing. She was yelling to her nephew calling me a NIGGER so I should not be allowed to buy some real estate. The original name NIGGER is what the Irish in NYC were called and I learned I am almost half Irish.

I like how art can be formed from almost any medium even from chaos. Nice job ,

Here is an updated video produced by New Yorker Magazine in 2014 - all the same steps are there. https://www.newyorker.com/culture/culture-desk/video-pretzel-croissant-city-bakery
