Pandemic Saturday

The death toll is still rising and nothing from trump on the casualties
as he and his minions still fight over his election loss
while the millionaires in congress are fighting over
how much "socialism" to dole out.

Apparently trump did have something to offer in regard to the casualties: Lame duck trump on Sunday baselessly accused his own administration of inflating the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in the U.S. as the pandemic’s death toll ticked past 350,000 nationwide earlier in the day. Chump, who has downplayed the threat of the coronavirus from the get-go, attacked the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for having a “ridiculous method” for counting the number of infections and deaths. “When in doubt, call it Covid,’” Trump tweeted, appearing to suggest that was the CDC’s stance on recording pandemic-related statistics. “Fake News!”

@Unknown ... I've heard plenty of speculation about "fake" numbers, but have yet to see any empirical evidence. Those "fake numbers" currently have all but 4 ICU beds filled in North Texas. And those "fake numbers" have LA County now instructing EMS crews not to resuscitate or provide supplemental oxygen to patients suspected of Covid infection if there is marginal chances of survival. And in other areas of California, rationed care has begun, which means when you show up to the ER and beds are full, you may be refused anything other than palliative care. Yes, doctors are being asked to pick which patients will live and which will die. And if you think it's bad now, just wait until the end of January when we've fully realized the Christmas/New Years spike. We're not even close to seeing the full spike yet. So I call BS on the conspiracy theory crowd who says the Covid infection numbers are "fake" or inflated. If you're so sure they are fake, then pull off that mask that robs you of your "freedom" and take a stroll through your local hospital ER. FFS

Also Steve, why according to the cdc is our flu rate .2 percent when it is usually around 8.7 during this time of year? Its that way all around the world with flu rates at record lows. Could it be that flu cases are being counted as covid? Like I said I'm no covid denier, I've had covid and of course its real but there is no doubt that the numbers are suspect. Sorry but they just are. Didn't say that its not a real problem because obviously it is but to shut down the economy and the world when there is a 99+ percent survival rate is crazy.
