Moving water from my creek tanks to my greenhouse tanks. By gravity, the flow rate is about a gallon a minute. The two greenhouse tanks I am topping off need about 1,400 gallons each. I get 1,500 gallons per inch of rain off the greenhouse roof, but I can pump 3,000 gallons out of the creek after a fast 1/2" of rain so it is good to have some room in the creek tanks in case that happens again this year. It would be nice to top off all the tanks for a change as it has been 2 years since that has happened. Total rainfall so far for 2021 is 5.71". Last year I only got 1.95". 76,83,64,0,B

whats entailed in treatment of water before use
So the creek sediment settles in the first tanks, right. And then you get the top water off. Have you ever had to empty the creek tanks? I don't even want to think about that.
P.S. I meant to get sediment out. Never mind. Sometimes things occur to me without thinking them through.
I add a cup of chlorine to the creek water tanks before transferring. For washing and cleaning...that's it. For drinking water I do this process. https://youtu.be/NRsfzqNrpX4
Judith - after 12 years of pumping creek water into those two tanks, there is less than a 1/4" of sediment in the bottom.
I watched your drinking water film. Once you get used to good water it's hard to drink any other. We live with well water & when I drink city water it tastes awful.
I am stunned that there is so little sediment!! Well, I need to rethink some things! Glad you haven't ended up with 5 feet of sand in the bottom! Thank you for telling me.
