say hello to my little friend...

I really need to do some welding tomorrow on the solar oven...but a spider has made a home in my welding jacket.  I hate to disrupt all the hard work he has put into it so I think I will make do without the jacket for this little project.  92,98,71,0,B

saved a spider

Did my good deed of the day first thing this morning. Saved a drowning spider from my swamp cooler reservoir. Not too worried that this little guy will ever come back to bite me because he is only about 3/8" long. Took him a couple of minutes to get his land legs then off he went like a shot. Sure hope someone doesn't leave a comment that this is some kind of horrendous killer to watch out for. Punched in at 9 and more truss work. Popped the second half of the truss on top of the first half and placed all 78 cross pieces. Benita was in and out a couple of times today for snacks and water - not much help with the welding. Off and on all day got the second half welded up. Spider-Welding-Break-Welding-Lunch-Break-Welding-Break-Welding-Beer.

September Spider

Welded up the frame for tower 2 today - also installed one set of cross bracing. All went according to plan. I have my friend Julianne to thank for letting me try out her wire feed welder months ago - it changed my life (well...sort of). Breezy cloudy day today...a high of only 62. Lots of sun and back into the 70's tomorrow. Meanwhile, my old town back in upstate NY is getting hammered with snow tonight.

Photo of the day from September 1, 2008 - one of my spider buddies. He/she had its web at the southwest corner of my house. I must say it's rather nice not to have lots of creepy crawly things around now that its "winter".

Tonight's full moon will be the brightest of 2009 - so go take a look...
