Nice, John, I'd been curious to see before/after photos, and here it is. Your empire in the sand. Proud work you've done there.

You have definitely made a mark in this world. Have followed your blog since you started. I am always amazed at how much you can get done in a very short time 'and' you do it all by yourself.

Congrats on all you have done so far.

sincerest best wishes for another 40.

Oh geez. Has it been only four years. I'm old; seems like only two or so. You've done some beautiful work in that amount of time, regardless. Well done.

Congratulations! John it has been an exciting journey! May you have many more years in the Desert. The Field Lab is truly amazing and you not only did it by yourself, but you "Did It Your Way!" Benita is a good supervisor. To you and all your extended Family, my best wishes for the Holidays.

Well John!
It is amazing what you have done in 4 years, working alone... Congratulations...You help others, you share your stuff and information with all who want to read your blog...You even gave us a pinup "Swamp Girl 2011"..
I follow The Field Lab experience, because I would give anything to do a similar project...but at 75 it has past me...Others are always asking questions, so here is mine...Have you done any more work on the Airstream or do you use it any???

Not Bad for only laboring 4 hours a day. Thanks for the inspiration. I will make it to TFL soon.

Congratulations John. You've accomplished so much in 4 years. I love the bottom photo. Looks like you could just hook up everything to the truck and pull it on out of there. And is that Benita waaaaay on the left?

good work John, level and plumb, steady as she goes. inspiring to see positive thinking in action. Hope you're still receiving visitors whenever I can get down there for a tour.

Congratulations, John I always enjoy looking in on "you" every morning early. You truly do inspire us all. Why is the format of your page different today? Something blogspot has done or something you changed? Good luck, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

John!, Joyeux anniversaire! I take great pleasure in following your adventures and what a joy you must take in seeing what you have accomplished.

Thanks for the daily tidbits and letting me live vicariously in the SW through TFL. Give Benita some extra feed from all her fans here in the comments.

Cheers!

Great comparison photos. As everyone else has said, congratulations and it's impressive to see what one motivated person in the desert can do alone.

I've followed you since you unloaded your walls out of your pickup. I'm vicariously living my fantasy of a simpler life through your blog....thanks for all your posts. I'm slowly warming my wife up to the idea and showing her your progress on your greenhouse and bonita helps a lot. Keep up the good work John. Your an inspiration to us all.

What's the next big project?

You've come a long way, Baby.... (just a little blast from the past) Funny, I was thinking a few posts back (when I looked at the picture of your place on the website) that it looks really different now, and this post shows it... Congrats, can't wait to see what you have in store for us for 2012.

Just think John that was all done with just those two hands.I have watched you all the way an it has been a real joy to watch what one person can accomplish all by himself.I feel like we're neighbors since the internet. Some of the people viewing this blog might not know that you had no help building that Oasis. Now there is something you can take pride in.
